About Spelling Fishing

A hands-on fishing game that builds spelling and phonics. A word appears with one sound missing. Steer your hook through the water and reel in the fish carrying the sound that completes the word.

How it scales

• Little Fish — short words, single sounds.
• Coral Reef — longer words with blends and digraphs.
• Deep Sea — tricky spellings and faster, deeper fish.

Recommended for

Ages 5–9.

How to play

1. Read the word and spot the gap (for example c _ t).
2. Press and hold to lower the hook, and steer left and right.
3. Catch the fish carrying the missing sound to reel it in.
