About Animal Groups

Animal Groups is a photo safari about animal classification. You look through a camera at a real habitat and one animal walks into the frame. Before it wanders out the other side, tag the shot with the group it belongs to — mammal, bird, fish, reptile, amphibian or insect. Tag it right and the shutter fires, the Polaroid develops into your album, and the animal is stamped into your Field Guide.

The Field Guide

Every species you photograph correctly is saved to a lifetime Field Guide that carries across sessions — and it is the same guide you fill on the other animal safaris, so nothing you collect is ever lost. First sightings get a gold frame.

How it scales

• Mammal or bird — just two tags, the easiest start.
• Class (5) — mammal, bird, fish, reptile and insect.
• Class (all) — amphibians join in.
• Champion — all six groups with less time per shot.

Recommended for

Ages 5–10. The two-tag level suits kids in K–2; the full six-group levels work well for grades 3+.

How to play

1. Watch the animal walk into your viewfinder.
2. Read its name above the camera.
3. Tap the group it belongs to before the timer runs out. Fast, confident tags earn three stars.
