Samantha was running around the park, giggling and chasing butterflies, when suddenly—ROAR! The loudest roar Samantha had ever heard echoed through the trees. Startled, Samantha turned around and saw something big and green hiding behind the trees. It was a huge T-Rex, peeking out with wide eyes!
When the townspeople heard the roar, they screamed and ran in every direction. "A T-Rex! Run for your lives!" they shouted, hiding behind benches and trees. But the T-Rex didn’t chase anyone; it just sat there, making sad little roars. Samantha stayed hidden behind a bush and watched closely.
The T-Rex wasn’t stomping or growling like in the movies. Instead, it looked... sad. It kept holding its jaw with its tiny hands and letting out soft, unhappy roars. Samantha tilted her head. "Why does it look like that? T-Rexes are supposed to be scary, not sad," Samantha whispered to herself.
Taking a deep breath, Samantha decided to be brave. Slowly, Samantha stepped out from behind the bush and walked toward the T-Rex. "Hi, um, Mr. T-Rex?" Samantha said, her voice shaking just a little. The T-Rex looked down at Samantha with big, teary eyes and gave a quiet roar.
"My tooth hurts," the T-Rex said in a deep, rumbly voice. "It hurts so much, and I don’t know what to do!" Samantha blinked. "Why don’t you go to the dentist?" Samantha asked. The T-Rex shook its giant head. "I’m too scared! What if it hurts even more?"
Samantha smiled kindly. "Dentists don’t hurt you; they help you feel better," Samantha said. "If you go to the dentist, your tooth will stop hurting, and you won’t have to roar so much." The T-Rex tilted its head and thought about this. "Really? You think they’ll be nice to me?" it asked.
The T-Rex still looked nervous, so Samantha made a promise. "I’ll go with you to the dentist," Samantha said, holding out her hand. The T-Rex stared at Samantha's tiny hand and nodded slowly. "Okay, but only if you come with me," the T-Rex said, still looking a little scared.
The next day, Samantha and the T-Rex stood in front of the dentist’s office. The T-Rex’s tail was shaking nervously, but Samantha held its tiny hand and smiled. "You can do this," Samantha said. Together, they walked inside, and everyone in the waiting room stared with big, surprised eyes.
The dentist didn’t even flinch when the T-Rex sat in the big chair. "Let’s take a look," she said kindly. With gentle hands, she fixed the T-Rex's tooth. When she was done, she gave the T-Rex a big smile and said, "All better now!" The T-Rex blinked and wiggled its jaw. "It doesn’t hurt anymore!" it said happily.
As they left the dentist’s office, the T-Rex roared one last time—but this time, it was a happy roar! "Thank you, Samantha! You’re the best friend ever," it said, giving Samantha a careful, gentle hug with its tiny arms. Samantha laughed. "No more scary roars, okay?" The T-Rex nodded and skipped off, its big feet thumping happily on the ground.
