Tim was so excited! Today was the day he would explore the jungle. he had a blue backpack filled with snacks and toys, ready for fun. Suddenly, a silly monkey swung down, grabbed the backpack, and zipped away into the trees!
"Hey, come back!" Tim called, running after the monkey. The jungle was full of twisty vines and bumpy roots, but Tim didn’t stop. {Pronoun} wanted his backpack back! The monkey giggled and disappeared deeper into the jungle.
As Tim ran, a bright parrot named Pico flew down. "Why are you running so fast?" Pico asked. Tim said, "The monkey took my backpack!" Pico flapped his wings and said, "I’ll help! I’ll fly ahead and find that naughty monkey!"
"Over here!" Pico squawked from up high. Tim ran and saw the monkey sitting on a log, holding the backpack. "Gotcha!" Tim said, creeping closer. But the monkey stuck out its tongue, jumped off the log, and ran away again!
The monkey led Tim to a shiny river. "How do I get across?" Tim wondered. Suddenly, a friendly turtle named Tilly swam up. "I can help!" Tilly said. Tim climbed on Tilly’s back, and they floated across the river together.
On the other side, Pico was waiting. "The monkey’s over there!" Pico said, pointing with his beak. Tim and Tilly ran to see the monkey playing with butterflies. But as soon as it saw them, the monkey ran off again!
The monkey stood next to Tim and pointed eagerly at a bunch of bananas hanging in the tree. “I think he wants to trade the backpack for a banana,” Tim said.
Tilly helped Tim pick the bananas while Pico watched the monkey. "Hurry, it’s still up there!" Pico said. Tim held a banana tightly and got ready to trade with the monkey.
"Here, monkey! Want a yummy banana?" Tim said, holding it up. The monkey’s eyes got big, and it climbed down to grab the banana. It dropped the backpack on the ground and started munching happily. "Hooray!" Tim cheered.
Tim picked up his backpack and smiled. "Thank you, Pico and Tilly!" he said. They all sat together, sharing snacks from the backpack and laughing about the jungle adventure. When the sun began to set, they headed home, happy and full of fun memories.
